The part by G.R. Gray was first published in 3 parts about 1844/1845 and included 22 plates. The work remained unfinished until 1875, when the work was edited by R. Bowdler Sharpe, who added an appendix and the remaining 15 plates.

The 39 plates are numbered 1, 1*, 2 to 11, 11*, 13 to 20, 20*, 21, XXI*, 23 to 35.
